What is Planetary Defense?

Giant craters pepper the Moon and are visible hundreds of thousands of miles away by human eyes on Earth. Where did those craters come from? What are asteroids and planetary defense? Are we in danger of being hit by a giant space rock? What can we even do about an asteroid that is set to impact Earth?
Unistellar Education Associate, Dan Peluso, tells us about Planetary Defense in this video made in partnership between the SETI Institute, Chabot Space & Science Center and Unistellar.
