Science with Impact – Designing affordable gamma ray detectors to aid in homeland security

STFC, Innovate UK and The University of York collaborate on designing gamma ray detectors that are small enough to be worn, delivering the functionality of being able to radiologically map cities and other areas aiding homeland security. The devices are built and manufactured by Kromek with The University of York helping to develop the product further.
